Facial Aesthetics

Professionals in the dental field have a unique advantage with facial aesthetics treatments — we understand the nuances of facial anatomy, so we can provide precision muscle relaxant injections for our patients

What are Facial Aesthetics?

The Nightingale Clinic is more than a dental practice, we also offer non-surgical facial treatments that temporarily soften expression lines or enhance certain features. Facial aesthetics use clinically-safe injectables that make subtle, but noticeable, changes to the face and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Wrinkles are a natural part of ageing. Over time, skin naturally becomes less elastic. It decreases or slows production of certain naturally occurring proteins and the skin’s connective tissue starts to break down. Repeated facial expressions, such as smiling, start to form grooves beneath the skin, which deepen over time.

Injections to Relax Facial Muscles

We are happy to schedule a no-obligation consultation if you want to address any fine lines or wrinkles.

If you are a candidate for muscle-inhibiting injections, we will book you in for treatment. This is a relatively quick and straightforward service using a fine micro needle to inject small amounts of muscle relaxant under the skin’s surface to target underlying muscle activity. The injectable solution temporarily blocks the nerves that cause the muscles to contract (which is what causes fine lines and wrinkles in the first place).

This service addresses lines around the brow, crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines and squint lines.

These injections are relatively painless and the service doesn’t require any time for recovery — you can carry on with your day immediately following the appointment. Results usually last around three to four months and require re-treatment at that time for continued results.

As Dentists, Our Knowledge of Facial Anatomy is an Advantage

Every one of the services we offer is done with the highest quality and we have years of training and experience that makes us more knowledgeable about facial anatomy than other practitioners who offer facial aesthetics. Our education provides us with core anatomical knowledge about the muscles, nerves and movements of the face. This is important, as facial features are linked and we know how they respond to our facial injection treatments.

An additional perk of having facial aesthetics treatment at a dental practice is our clinical level of cleanliness and our reputation as highly regarded professionals.

Preparing for a Facial Aesthetics Treatment

If you decide to move forward with facial aesthetics treatment following your consultation, preparing for your appointment is easy. Here are some recommendations we make to our facial aesthetics patients:
  • Advise us of any medications you take, including vitamins and herbal remedies
  • Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Minimise UV exposure 48 hours before treatment
  • Stop retinol or retinoid topical treatments for the 72 hours leading up to treatment

Our Treatments Always Start with a Consultation

Before we do anything, we always talk to our patients about what they are looking to get out of treatment. Facial aesthetics can be an excellent choice, but they’re not for everyone. Let’s talk during a free consultation to see if facial aesthetics treatment is right for you.
